A young company with an innovative approach to maritime electronics. Since our establishment in January 2022, we joined the Maritime Remanufacturing Network in 2023, and we are committed to keeping ship electrical control systems in operation, even long after they have been labelled ‘obsolete’.
At ATLA Propulsion Controls, we strongly believe in preventing obsolescence of propulsion systems. Our mission originated from a partnership between AEGIR-Marine and PAT-Krüger, where we not only support AEGIR-Marine’s clients but also serve the broader maritime market with solutions for outdated propulsion systems. No problem or query is too challenging for us. We provide the solutions.
We understand that nowadays, electric control systems are often considered outdated, even though ships have a lifespan of 25 to 35 years. At ATLA, however, we offer an alternative approach to installing a completely new system throughout the ship. Instead, we collaborate with our clients based on their specific needs.
Our expertise doesn’t only include component-based PCB repairs for outdated systems. We also offer three different solutions:
We understand the environmental impact of electronics and aim to reduce this impact by repairing and reusing old equipment when possible. Even if we can’t repair everything, we ensure that components that are at the end of their life are recycled responsibly. For our clients, this means not having outdated electric control systems on a new ship but rather hybrid systems incorporating parts of old systems that still meet operational goals. This approach isn’t just good for the environment; it also aligns with the operational objectives of our clients. A win-win situation. That’s what we love.
FOCUS ON THE CLIENT
Every job and every ship is different. That’s why we work on a case-by-case basis. Whether it’s about replacing an entire system for a ship that still has 25 years of service life or conducting targeted maintenance and replacement work for a ship that only needs to remain operational for another five years, we tailor our solutions to your needs.
OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE MARITIME REMANUFACTURING NETWORK
We are proud to be part of the Maritime Remanufacturing Network. Instead of seeing old components as worthless, we see them as valuable items. Our goal within the network is to give new life to electrical components, even if it means ‘cannibalising’ different systems and reintroducing usable parts to the market.
